[DR1] 85 pre Colombian pieces returned

United States ambassador Hans Hertell and Culture Minister Jose Rafael Lantigua showed off 85 pieces of pre-Colombian artifacts yesterday. These pieces had been discovered among a group of 401 that entered the Miami International Airport as replicas. The US Customs experts found the 85 authentic pieces among the shipment and impounded them. The group included graters, collars, hand axes and a unique piece with a gold nugget. According to some experts several of the pieces date from many years before Christ and belong to the Mordan-Barrera group. There are another 15 pieces that are waiting return shipment to the Dominican Republic. These were recovered in different United States airports. According to Hoy, it took two years of paperwork to get the pieces returned to the DR.
