The National Department of Drug Control announced the cancellation of Police Lieutenant Colonel Francisco R. Vargas Urena, chief of the Central Division of the DNCD. Also cancelled was the chief of operations of that same department, Air Force Mayor Edwin Herrera Martinez. Another unnamed mayor of the Police was also cancelled. The officers are suspects in the disappearance of four kilos of cocaine that had been confiscated in a city drug raid. Colonel Ramon Rodriguez, spokesman for the DNCD said he did not have details, but that there was proof of their participation.
