While the sun is shining in Santo Domingo today, the Metereological Office reports a red alert has been issued for three provinces. These are central Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) and San Pedro de Macoris in the southeast. A yellow alert still holds for the central province of La Vega, and northeastern provinces of Maria Trinidad Sanchez and Espaillat.
The rains are expected to continue.
