55-year old merengue singer Fernando Villalona (El Mayimbe) was released from the Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital in New York where he was kept under medical observation for two days for heart troubles. The doctors recommended Villalona stop smoking and avoid stress, his brother Bolivar Villalona told the press. El Mayimbe was interned after suffering from "pre-cardiac arrest".
Villalona is booked for performances in New York and plans to continue the tour.
