Rains will continue

National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) director Gloria Ceballos says that the rains that have been drenching most parts of the country in recent days are set to continue. A surface trough extends from the Central Atlantic through the Mona Passage to a weak 1014MB low along the coast of Hispaniola near 18N70W. Likewise an upper ridge is covering the Caribbean extending from near 16N74W across the Virgin Islands to the Central Atlantic. The forecast is for the upper ridge over the northeastern Caribbean to bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
