20 grand masters from the DR and abroad will be competing in the International Grand Chess Tournament International AES Foundation Cup at the Hotel Santo Domingo starting 2 June. President of the Dominican Chess Federation, Pedro Dominguez Brito said that 13 grand masters are coming from Russia, the US, Cuba, Macedonia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Venezuela. The event will be played in 9 rounds with a cash prize of US$12,000. Sponsor company AES is the largest private power generator in the Dominican Republic
