Work advances on Metro line 2

Hoy newspaper reports that with much discretion, works on the second line of the metro of Santo Domingo are under way. The works are taking place behind tall barriers placed by the Metro Office (OPRET) on Av. Kennedy and near the Olympic Center. Hoy reports that OPRET spokesman Leonel Carrasco has not been available for comment. The newspaper writes that the tunnel on the intersections of Aves. Kennedy and Jose Ortega y Gasset and the one at Kennedy with Maximo Gomez are already built. These will connect to the first line at Av. Maximo Gomez. Hoy reports that the works are most apparent near the stops at Av. V Centenario, opposite the Republica Dominicana School and at V Centenario with Duarte, where work continues even on holidays.
