La Flecha now banned

The popular Chinese medicinal ointment, "La Flecha" (the arrow) has lost its license to be sold on the local market. Now at a press conference yesterday Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez advised people not to buy the ointment that has been used for nasal congestion and muscular pains. The Public Health license for selling the ointment had expired two years ago. Rojas Gomez says he is taking action after receiving a warning from the US FDA about the product that contains toxic ingredients, primarily diethylene-glycol, used as an anti-freeze ingredient. He said that side effects could include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and mental confusion.
