The president of the National Drug Control Department (DNCD), Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo says that it is an unquestionable reality that drug trafficking has flooded the country, as President Leonel Fernandez himself has said. The Fernandez administration has not been able to contain the penetration by drug traffickers.
He said the DR is a victim of a world crisis, given that it is located in the middle, with the production center below and the consumption centers above.
"It is evident that this brings as a consequence that the country is a desirable trans-shipment point and now a drugs consumption point, a reality no one can deny," as reported in El Dia.
