The District Attorney of the National District filed charges yesterday in the case of Jose David Figueroa Agosto, Sobeida Felix Morel and another 8 persons accused of violating Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances and money laundering funds from drug trafficking.
District Attorney Alejandro Moscoso Segarra said that it would be up to the court that is assigned the case to weigh the more than 300 pieces of evidence presented individually against each of the accused.
Among those included in the arraignment are Adolfina Revecca Pelaez Frappier (Dolphy) and Madeline Bernard Pena, the widow of the murdered Police colonel Jose Amado Gonzalez Gonzalez, who was an associate of Figueroa Agosto. They were also charged with criminal association and money laundering. The District Attorney instructed both women to post a bail bond and imposed travel restrictions.
The others accused are Figueroa's wife Leavy Yadira Nin Batista or Fior Jansen Rodriguez, who is a fugitive, Eddy Brito Martinez, Mary Elvira Pelaez Frappier, Samy Dauhajre, Ricardo Ivanovich Smester Ginebra and Juan Jose Fernandez Ibarra.
The document containing the accusations and request for trial against the accused is 138 pages long. It was delivered to the Coordinating Judge for the Courts of Instruction, Rosalba Garib Holguin at 4pm yesterday, by assistant district attorneys Bienvenito Fabian Melo, Wendy Lora Perez, Jose Agustin de la Cruz Santiago and Milciades Guzman Leonardo.
Figueroa Agosto and/or Cristian Almonte Peguero and/or Felipe de la Rosa and/or Ramon Sanchez is charged with criminal association, money laundering, sponsoring drug trafficking, forging and use of fake identification documents, and the illegal possession of a firearm.
