If you thought traffic at peak hours was bad in Santo Domingo, note it is getting worse. The government is initiating several new construction projects and detours as part of the Duarte Corridor that seeks to build new north-south thruways for the city.
The Ministry of Public Works is alerting that as works progress, there can be no more left turns at the intersections of 27 de Febrero with Nunez de Caceres and Dr. Defillo. The Nunez de Caceres will be East-South: a right on Cotubanama, turning left at Luis F. Thomen and taking the Nunez de Caceres to the south. To go North-East: a left at Francisco Prats Ramirez, turning right at Jose Tapia Brea and then 27 de Febrero eastbound.
To go West-North: take a right at Teatro Nacional, turning left at Miguel Andres Monclus. Then a right at the Primera to turn left on Camila Henriquez Urela, taking Nunez de Caceres to the north.
South-West: right on Camila Henriquez Urena, turning left at Carmen Mendoza and then 27 de Febrero to the west.
At Dr. Defillo, to turn East-South, you need to take a right at Bohechio, then left on Luis F. Thomen and then take Dr. Defillo to go south.
