Peravia Senator Wilton Guerrero says that gangs of drug dealers are using police agents to murder, kidnap and force rival groups to pay up in his hometown Bani. He said in the past two weeks, two youths were murdered by the Police. These are Ramon Alexander Gonzalez Batista, 23 years, and his 20 year old cousin Maximo Ivan Tejada who he said stole an undisclosed amount of money from a supposed trafficker known as El Lento who resides in the National District. He said two days later, youth Wander Bautista Tejada, brother of Maximo Ivan was kidnapped. The youth would be brutally murdered shortly after. Two days later, the Police of La Romana announced the death of two youths in crossfire with the Police. The Police alleged the individuals were sought for crimes. Guerrero says that what really happened was that a contingent made up by 12 police agents surrounded the pension where the youths were at Calle Eugenio Miranda in the Tamarindo sector of La Romana and after these turned themselves in, they were shot to death. "Who was after those boys?" asked Guerrero. "The prosecutors, no; the Police, no". The re-elected PLD senator said they were sought by El Lento for the robbery and because they knew too much of his criminal activities and his relationships with high up military and police.
