Puerto Rican fugitive Jose David Figueroa Agosto was able to obtain six gun permits in the DR. Here he managed to get the help from many to carry out his money laundering operations of the money from serious crimes.
According to the Hoy newspaper, one of the first persons he recruited was the Police Colonel Jose Amado Gonzalez Gonzalez who, thanks to his official duties, was able to cover for all of the illegal transactions until 3 September 2009.
According to the papers filed in court by the District Attorney, it was through Gonzalez that Figueroa Agosto met the accused Madeline Bernard, Eddy Brito Martinez, Sammy Dauhajre, and Ivanovich Smester Ginebra.
The accusation goes on to say that through these persons the fugitive also met Sobeida Feliz Morel, Mary Pelaez Frappier, Juan Jose Fernandez Ibarra, and Adolfina Rebecca Pelaez (Dolphy Pelaez).
They say that through the use of his criminal network and their identities, the fugitive bought property.
The document also says that Figueroa Agosto purchased through the front business Saanich, S.A., a 1200 m2 parcel of land in the town of Los Llanos in San Pedro de Macoris. (A front business exists only on paper)
Likewise, using the Balderton Enterprise, S.A. company, supposedly managed by the officer, he purchased apartment 4-C of building A in the Torre Serena condominium. This was then transferred to the officer and his wife, Madeline Bernard. Again through the officer, he purchased the Plaza Capeti, located in Veron, Bavaro.
