Not to be missed is the "Footprints by the Sea" exhibition at the Palace of Bellas Artes on Maximo Gomez. Paintings, sculptures, drawings and caricatures by Spaniards that migrated to the DR and lived here from 1939-1959 are on exhibit. Works from 16 exiles of the Spanish civil war are on exhibition together with works from the same period by 12 prominent Dominican artists. The Spaniards are Jose Alloza, Antonio Bernard Blas (Toni), Angel Botello Barros, Otello Barros, Joseph Gausachs Armengol, Francisco Gausachs Aisa, Eugenio Fernandez Granell, Victor Garcia (Ximpa), Juan Junyer, Manolo Pascual, Antonio Prats Ventos, Rivero Gil, Jose Rovira, Carlos Solaeche, Jose Vela Zanetti and Alfonso Vils (Shum).
