[DR1] Thousands march against crime

Thousands of persons marched more than ten kilometers, from Duarte Avenue at Pedro Livio Cedeno street to the seat of Congress in the Centro de los Heroes, as reported by El Caribe. They were joined by people in cares, motorcycles, and pick-up trucks, and even two clowns on a scooter calling out for peace and an end to violence and carrying posters and banners. Several public figures from the entertainment field, such as Carlos Alfredo Fatula, Johnny Ventura, Kinito Mendez, and former Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch were leading the march that was looked after by Civil Defense and Red Cross brigades. People were commenting on the lack of representation of the Church and the government in the march.
