[DR1] Haitian foreign minister to visit

Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso informed that the new Haitian Foreign Minister Renald Clerisme will be visiting the DR within the next two weeks, with the purpose of holding several meetings to reactivate the Binational Joint Commission. Clerisme is a former Catholic priest who lived in Barahona, in the southwest of the DR, for some time and performed anthropological research between 1993 and 1994 on the impact Haitian manpower has on the Dominican economy. He is a former Haitian ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He is expected on 13 August. He has been foreign minister of the country since 9 June 2006.
