The government will evaluate a plan designed last year to solve the problems affecting the electricity sector, during a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank (WB) and officials of the sector on 24 June. President Leonel Fernandez, electricity sector officials and the government's economic team will take part in the meeting.
The announcement was made by Hacienda Minister Vicente Bengoa after a meeting with the President and the executive vice-president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), Celso Marranzini, to establish their plans for the second half of the year.
