Codetel is announcing new plans with max speeds of 15 and 20 megabytes per second. It also announced its Plan Prepago for purchasing Internet service for one day or a month, without a bill. It also announced its new Wifi modems. The announcement came with the celebration of the 80th year of Codetel services in the DR.
Codetel has come under fire lately, mainly for failures in its mobile service that were unknown of during the days of its predecessor, Verizon.
Net Index (speedtest.net) places the DR in 154th place out of 178 countries tested in the world for low speed, with an average 0.73 Mb/s. Codetel is the largest mobile and Internet provider in the DR.
