Arthur Lee Tarlow, a 65-year old lawyer from Oregon, was murdered at his holiday home in Playa Chiquita in Sosua late on Friday night. The motive is not yet known. The preliminary police report says that a company he owned, Macarelo, had recently won US$3.9 million in a lawsuit against a local company. The body was taken to Santiago for an autopsy, prior to being flown back to the US for burial.
Tarlow was found in his own room with several bullet injuries, according to the Police North Central division. The Police said it has detained two people for questioning.
