New vaccines center at Plaza de la Salud

The General Hospital at the Plaza de la Salud (HGPS) in Santo Domingo has opened a modern Vaccination Center, offering at least 25 types of vaccinations to people of all ages. Their vaccination program has been approved by the World Health Organization and the US Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of the vaccines will be applied as part of the national health program against childhood illnesses such as German measles, whooping cough, measles, diphtheria and tetanus. Vaccines are also available against hepatitis A, typhoid and other diseases. All the vaccines are available to all of the population, according to Julio Amado Castanos Guzman, the president of the hospital's board of trustees.
