President Leonel Fernandez, First Lady Margarita Cedeno and the Minister of Public Health (SP) inaugurated two emergency halls at the Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital yesterday.
The new ERs are part of new two-floor building with service areas for children built at a cost of RD$557 million and that yesterday were blessed by the Cardinal, Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez, as reported in Hoy. The entrance is from Abraham Lincoln Avenue.
Speaking at the ceremony, the First Lady said the building had cost RD$95 million and the equipment to make it the most modern pediatric center in the DR and possibly in the Caribbean cost RD$462 million. The new ER has three waiting rooms with color-coded chairs for different types of problems.
