Jordi Veras left Santiago not knowing if he would ever return, when he went to New York for treatment he hoped would save the sight in his right eye. His optical nerve was damaged during an attempted murder on 2 June as he parked his car to go to his television program at 6:25am. Surrounded by his children, the lawyer smiled at his good fortune to have survived the murder attempt and to be back home with his family.
He expressed his belief that investigators from the District Attorney's office would solve the case. He added that the "case is far advanced..."
