Banks in the DR have been publishing names of people who have accounts that have not registered activity over the past 10 years. Now newspaper publications are reminding bank clients that Financial and Monetary Law 183-02 establishes that funds in accounts without movement for 10 years will be transferred to Central Bank ownership. Owners of these inactive accounts have until 30 June to claim the funds. After that deadline, they will get 10 more days to make the claim directly to the Central Bank.
