[DR1] Accused murderers sent to jail

The National Police have caught the masterminds behind the murder and the contract killers of Customs inspector Ramon Florintino. Judge Alexis Inoa remanded four of the accused to one year of preventive custody and ordered bail for the fifth member of the group. According to Listin Diario, the motive for the killing was the fact that Florintino was not allowing any merchandise to leave the Port of Caucedo without paying the required taxes. In fact, according to the paper, when he performed his job of re-checking the customs clearances, he often sent them back for corrections. The accused have admitted being paid RD$150,000 for the hit on the inspector.
