[DR1] Highway construction to Felix Bautista

The Fernandez government has announced the transfer of the construction of the San Cristobal-Bani highway and the 15 de Azua-San Juan-Las Matas de Farfan highway to engineer Felix Bautista of the Oficina Supervisora y Fiscalizadora de Obras del Estado. The Grupo Modesto was in charge of the San Cristobal-Bani highway up till now. Bautista, a close aide to President Fernandez, was accused of irregularities in the construction of the San Juan de la Maguana highway entrusted to him during the previous Fernandez administrationl, but was acquitted by justice. In the past, the Minister of Public Works was in charge of supervising the construction of these highways. Grupo Modesto had complained of extortion from the Ministry of Public Works.
