Pope Benedict XVI has promoted Reverend Father Victor Emilio Masalles Pere to the rank of Bishop. He was ordained on 7 June 1991, and studied in Rome at the Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana from 1996 to 2001, completing a doctorate in Theology Summa Cum Laude. He also studied at the Pontificio Ateneo Teresianum with studies in spirituality.
He has served as parish priest in several parishes in the DR. and rector of the Santo Tomas de Aquino Seminary. He is a member of the College of Apostles in the third degree of the Order of the Sacrament.
