President Leonel Fernandez said that the Ministry of Education would not be affected by the budget cuts that were ordered to collect the US$350 million needed to pay its arrears with the power generating companies. As reported Listin Diario, President Fernandez told the president of the Public School Teachers Association (ADP) that there would be no cuts in Education.
Art. 673 of the new Constitution prohibits the transfer of funds allocated to education.
