The Vice Presidents of Central America, Belize and the DR will hold a summit conference in Santo Domingo today and tomorrow. Topics to be discussed are the struggle against corruption and environmental policies, according to the Nuevo Diario.
A press release from the Presidential Press Office said that the Vice Presidents would discuss the region's position to be presented during the XIV International Conference Against Corruption set for Thailand from 10 to 13 November.
Dominican Vice President Rafael Alburquerque is chairing the Dominican summit. The Vice Presidents of Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, and El Salvador confirmed their attendance. The Prime Minister of Belize Gaspar Vega and the director of the Vice President's office in Nicaragua and the Panamanian ambassador to the Dominican Republic have also confirmed their participation.
