The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has announced the winners of the congressional and municipal elections held on May 16. The JCE declared the results of the bulletin issued on 2 July as valid. The PRD had appealed the results in Pedernales, San Jose de Ocoa, Dajabon and Valverde, but the JCE rejected the appeals. The ruling PLD party has now officially won all the seats in the Senate, with the exception of the PRSC's Amable Aristy Castro's, a strong PLD ally.
