After his three-day official visit to Germany, President Fernandez continues on to Paris for a two-day stay, prior to returning to the DR via New York on 14 July.
There he is scheduled to meet the president of the Senate, Gerard Larcher at the Luxembourg Palace. He will also meet with French economist and intellectual Jacques Attali for the signing of an agreement for the implementation of an international commission for reflections on the challenges for the future of the Dominican Republic by Economy Minister Juan Temistocles Montas. Attali is president of PlaNet Finance, a leading international non-profit organization with a mission to alleviate poverty through the development of microfinance. Atalli is the founding president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and until recently served as the head of an economic commission for French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
