The movement called "Police, don't kill me, I will stop" (Policia no me mate, yo me paro) is growing stronger by the day, promoted over the Internet by a number of social networks like Hi-5, Twitter and Facebook. It is a campaign against recent killings by the National Police, whose agents have killed at least three people for failing to stop during random checks along streets and highways. According to El Caribe, the message is being spread via cell phones and there is talk of bumper stickers and T-shirts. The Remolacha website invites people to submit creative versions of the slogan, superimposed on edited photos. Dozens of images of the slogan are featured on the site. Some have the Police HQ building in the background and others have images of the Police Chief with a cell phone to his ear telling the force to "chill" and only do stops in well-lit areas.
