The DR lost to Puerto Rico in the final of Centrobasket tournament that came to an end in Santo Domingo yesterday. The Puerto Ricans led the way, defeating the Dominican team 89-80, despite the DR winning the first half 47-39, thanks to 22 points scored by NBA's Charlie Villanueva. The DR led into the third quarter 64-63. After that, the Puerto Ricans did their stuff to win the game. Villanueva ended the game with 36 points. Panama was third in the event. The teams now move on to the Central American and Caribbean Games, which open in Puerto Rico on 17 July.
