The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that a tropical wave over Puerto Rico will brings rains to the DR today. There will be some thunderstorms with lightning and occasional strong gusts of wind. The Onamet forecasts scattered showers over the northeast, southeast, Central Mountains, and along the border with Haiti.
Around noon, the skies over the National District and the province of Santo Domingo will become cloudy and the rains will start. These rains are the result of the remnants of a low-pressure trough that is now over eastern Cuba and the interaction with the clouds brought by the easterlies from the low-pressure tropical wave. So far, no alerts have been issued.
