Robert John Marone, 49, of Wilton Manors, Florida was deported from the DR recently to face charges of sexual exploitation of children. He appeared in federal court in Florida on Monday. He was ordered to be held without bond by Magistrate William Turnoff. On March 6, Marone was seen in the Dominican Republic inside a white Nissan with four young boys, aged 5 to 15, the complaint said. Federal authorities accuse him of taking lewd pictures of four young boys with their genitals exposed. The Dominican authorities seized Marone's camera and on it they found 16 pictures of the boys, 13 of which showed them in various sexual poses and exposing themselves.
Three of the boys told investigators that a man called Gago told them to go with Marone, who took them on a boat ride in Boca Chica. Afterwards, on the drive back to Santo Domingo, Marone stopped the car at a park and began taking the photographs, the charges say.
