In its 26th July issue, Time magazine looks into the Major League Baseball operations and new initiatives aimed at changing the current system of training baseball prospects in the DR. MLB sent in Selig to reform the system. The DR is the leading farm for prospects for MLB.
The reality is that just 2% of Dominican players who are signed will make it to the majors, writes author Sean Gregory. He focuses on some academies that are providing educational opportunities for the players.
