1st DR trip 8/20/10 - 8/25/10

I'll be going on my first trip with a buddy in from August 20th to August 25th. We'll be staying at Blackbeards for 2 nights, and then in Sosua for 3 nights.

I'm wondering if anyone will be in town at the same time. I've been doing a lot of reading, but it'd be nice to find other mongers in town....

I've been reading some of the trip reports, seems like there's a ton of problems with drama girls in Sosua. I usually monger in the Philippines, I've never had the kind of drama as described in Sosua.

That being said, I look forward to my upcoming trip. Hopefully, I can stay clear of drama girls.

Also, where's the day time action? I'll be staying at the Europa. One trip report stated that there's a ton of available ladies just waiting outside the place...

But, keep reading and seriously consider moving to a better hotel.

New Garden Hotel being your best bet according to many here, Rocky's if Ricky has any rooms available just down the street can' be beat at $25 a night, Don Antonio's on the same street close to the highway has just done some renovation and LOWERED their prices and the Sea Breeze at about $40 a night just 1 minute from the NG, all on, more or less, Calle Dr. Rosen.

They are all better in so many ways than the Europa. You'll thank us later!

If you would consider $59 and up a night Terra Linda, on guess what street :D, is FANTASTIC!

There are other excellent options in condos too.

The point is the Europa is way past it's prime and the girls out front are generally trouble in one form or another.

Sosua will be packed to the rim with chicas this upcoming weekend. Championship boxing. The fight will be held at the Sosua Bay Casino on Sat 8/22. I just got back from Sosua this past Sunday night. Ratio was atleast 30/1.

Especially on your first trip! Try to move somewhere else if it's not too late. I've never known the staff at Europa to be too helpful. At the other places mentioned, you'd have staff who cares and likely more I.S.O.C. members.

Enjoy dude. To me Blackbeard's is the controlled environment--good to get your feet (and dick) wet first time in DR. Sosua is like the jungle--a free for all. Enjoy the house chicas and then enjoy pulling from the independents in Sosua. I always split my trip in both places before. Next month I'm just doing Sosua for a few days. Have a great time. Peace.

I agree with the two previous post.......switch from Europa if at all possible. I booked and paid for a room there a few years ago and ended up not even staying the night. It's a little scrufty and chicas out front are some to stay away from. Try NG, SB, TL or Rockys.

There is no one down in Sosua this past week i saw maybe a handful of guys in classicos friday and sat night. Chicas don't know what to do with themselves. It didn't matter what bar I was at they would line up behind you 6-7 deep.
