[DR1] Patrols arrest 189 in Santiago

Military and police patrols have arrested 180 drivers for violating the recent decrees issued by President Fernandez, designed to reduce the rate of violence and crime. At least three businesses have been shut down in Santiago for breaking the no-liquor curfew. General Luis de la Cruz Consuegra said that crime in the Central Cibao region has fallen by "99%" in and around Santiago. He told Listin Diario reporters that perhaps he "would be exaggerating if he said that crime had diminished by 100%". In addition, the General said that he was sorry that there was nothing to report yesterday, no crimes or other horrible incidents, nor robberies. The Cibao Central commander said that most of the people arrested were arrested for investigation or because they had issues pending with the courts.
