Peravia senator Wilton Guerrero said there is not one of those responsible for the protection and impunity with which Puerto Rican capo Jose David Figueroa Agosto operated in the DR in jail because these are "sacred cows," as reported in Hoy.
He said that those who are arrested in the case are "secondary" figures in the Figueroa Agosto network that operated in the DR for 10 years. The PLD senator complained that impunity also surrounds the wave of executions of persons with ties to Figueroa Agosto. No one knows who is behind or who are the contract assassins who murdered those involved in the Figueroa Agosto network, but they are sacred cows because they are whom are interested in silencing them, he said when interviewed on the El Dia show on Channel 11.
Guerrero wondered out loud why bring Sobeida Felix here. "So she can be treated benignly by a judge or for her to be murdered in jail as happened with the others?" wondered Guerrero.
He said the benignity of Dominican justice is evident not only with Sobeida, but with Figueroa Agosto, Tono Lena and others that have been accused of drug trafficking and who were helped to flee when they were originally arrested.
Felix Morel is accused of money laundering and skipping bail and fleeing to Puerto Rico.
