With his 599th homerun yesterday, Alex Rodriguez is about to become the 7th major leaguer to reach 600. He would be the youngest, at age 35. The New York Yankees player became one run short when batting against Kansas City Royals reliever Robinson Tejeda in the seventh inning at Yankee Stadium. Names of those on the list of 600 are fellow Dominican Sammy Sosa, Ken Griffey Jr., Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
