The Chamber of Deputies yesterday approved US$182.7 million in new foreign loans. CAF of South America will be lending US$80 million to an National Institute of Housing (INVI) urban development project to benefit 61 communities in vulnerable areas. The project has a total cost of US$124 million and had been signed with CAF in April 2010.
The Chamber of Deputies also approved the government taking on a US$52.7 million loan with the Brazilian export bank, BNDES for the equipping of the Duarte Corridor under construction by Odebrecht and Grupo Estrella in the DR.
A third is for US$50 million for the InterAmerican Development Bank for the 10-year Education Plan.
