Judges of the Court of Appeals sent police agent Elvin Vinicio Montero to jail. The father of the late 24-year old law student Abraham Ramos says Montero fired the first shot that led to the subsequent murder of his son, by Montero's patrolling partner, Manuel de Jesus Martinez. Only Martinez, who is said to have fired the bullet that killed Abraham, was initially sent to preventive jail. Montero had been released on bail.
Judge Ramon Horacio Gonzalez considered that Montero is an accomplice in the murder and could attempt to flee. The agent was sent to the Special Operations Jail of the Police.
Ramos Morel, a 24-year old student who at late hours had gone out to eat with his father after celebrating his birthday, was murdered with a shot in the back of his head when he did not immediately heed the order to stop in a dark area made by the patrol.
