Writing in Clave newspaper, news commentator Ramon Colombo says that contrary to President Leonel Fernandez's statement that he will not allow the existence of sacred cows in his government, there is a herd of sacred cows that roam freely, untouchable and unmentionable. He says that only President Fernandez himself could denounce them, if he were willing or able.
He mentions several cases that back up his theory of the prevalence of the sacred cows.
The Quirino case: "Who would think of publishing the names of any of the sacred cows that did business with him? How to denounce the cow that he called when he was arrested? How to point to the other cow that acted to abort the DEA operation when the shipment was on its way to the Cibao?"
The Paya case: "What sacred cow left with the cocaine and the money at the start of the investigations into the killing? Where is the report of the high-level commission ordered by Leonel to determine the sacred cows involved in this happening? "
Del Tiempo case: "What sacred cow brought him to the country? What other cow accredited him at the Presidential Palace as a great investor? Which conceded him and his son colonel rank credentials? Which of the cows offered coverage in their multiple exports of cocaine in freight containers that supposedly had vegetables? Which sacred cows benefited from the bounties of the Atiemar Tower? "
In the Figueroa Agosto case: "How many of these cows were part of his network....?"
