The former District Attorney for the National District, Guillermo Moreno, announced on Thursday that he has everything ready for his new political party, called Alianza Pais (Country Alliance), whose motto is "Honest Government". Moreno said that the party would work towards the 2012 presidential elections. He said that the paperwork needed for official recognition has been deposited at the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and that his party's new colors are yellow and white. He said that the documents given to the JCE on 6 July represented more than nine months work all over the country. Guillermo Moreno envisions what he calls "a possible country" where the emphasis is on education as the sole instrument for development. He proposes a single, eight-hour school day, with breakfast and lunch, teacher training, and a shift in the high school system towards becoming high schools and polytechnic institutes.
