The basics of setting up a trip to anywhere...

I know when I take my first trip to a country I go through a range of emotions. From anxiety to super happy. What are some of the basics that take you from worry to relax when it comes to setting up a trip.


Information

1. Intel about the place that you will be visiting.(Food, Money, Entertainment, laws, health, weather)

Place to stay

1. An Hotel that has been reviewed favorably by many(price, location, freedom)
2. Comformation from the Hotel

Travel from the Airport to your Hotel/hombase

1. A reputable company at a good price
2. Comformation from the taxi/travel service

Once these three things are set, is there more needed to feel comfortable about your trip?

I am normally ok when I am armed with these three things. I have departed on trip with very little information, no idea of where I would stay, and not travel arrangments set up beyond the Airport/bus station/port.

When I went to Costa Rica, I picked the hotel suggested by that board. When I did Lima Peru, Becell picked the hotel suggested by many on ISG. For Jamaica, I went with Rocko's suggestion for SeaStar and for Thailand, I just asked Kevy.

Travel is a no brainer these days.

From 2005-2007 me and my wingman in Honduras would travel from country to country and just explore. If I knew about ISOC then............:rolleyes::eek:

I guess some people would say that having a good wingman added to the mix makes the trip easier. But when you are coached prior to your trip, then it is easy.

I want to go back when I get to the states so that I can privide good intel. Guatamala City was great. I remember the women, but not the prices, zones, hotels ect.

Yup. I've never needed a wingman. I can see why many want a wingman, but if you're rational and was never considered "slow" by your teachers, one isn't really needed.

Having a wingman is really useful though I never had one on my trips.. I have been feeling depressed lately whenever I hit sosua between fuck sessions. A typical day for me in Sosua is like this..

1. Get up have coffee and breakfast in NG.

2. Around 10 am go to those massage places get a covered BJ ( from this time to lunch time is a dead period)

3. Go to beach and get drunk watching sea and eat lunch at Big D

4. Come back to room and sleep for sometime.. ( again deadtime starts)

5. Hunt for a chica and bang her

6.. Take shower walk around drinking beer

7.. Pick another chica for ST as I dont get anyone for TLN..

8.. dead time until I get sleep.

Part of the problem is I cannot speak Spanish so it is difficult to keep a chica in room for more than 1 hour..

Thailand is better as most of the chicas speak Enlglish or understand it reasonably.

When I first start to read I am feeling rushed to locate information. I settle down and continue to read. Then I start to pick up nuggets of information and I take notes. Then I am armed to the teeth with info and ready to go.

I agree with gdogg that a wingman is not needed after your first two nights, but for me that is what makes the trip. If I had a day like Kanek's and felt depressed on my trip, I would never be back. If you don't speak Spanish, why not surround yourself with 'like minded friends' that speak english. If it was just about smashing chicas I could stay home and go to the bars with my buddies, get a girlfriend, or troll craigslist. Sosua is a party town (at least for me), and since you will only be smashing chicas 2-3 out of 24 hours, why not meet some new people and have fun the rest of your day. Plus there are so many other things to see and do outside the city limits of Sosua.

The best trips are usually that because of wingmen. I just hate it when I read of people not wanting to go anywhere because they don't have one. They can't possibly have a good time, let alone get on a plane if they don't have someone by their side. It's not necessary. You are never alone in a place like Sosua. In this day and age, you can mentally audition wingmen while you're chilling by the NewGarden pool. You'll probably meet enough dudes to actually come across somebody who thinks like you do, even if you're picky.
