The DR won gold with Xue Wu in table tennis, and in men's handball. Victor Estrella defeated Mexican Daniel Garza 7-6 and 6-1 in tennis over the weekend.
The DR closed its participation in the 2010 Mayaguez Central American and Caribbean Games with a haul of 133 medals. This includes 31 gold, 37 silver and 65 bronze. This compares to the country's participation in the San Salvador Games in 2002 when the DR won 131 medals, including 35 gold. But this year, Cuba did not participate.
