Hacienda Minister Vicente Bengoa says that the Venezuelan petroleum company, PDVSA will pay the US$133 million for its 49% stake in the Dominican Petroleum Refinery in October, after legal procedures are completed.
"We will receive all the money from the sale of 49% of the shares of the refinery between 16 August and 23 October", said Bengoa.
The minister added that the proposed modification of the 2010 National Budget, which is pending approval in Congress, would assign the funds to the electricity sector. The changes to the budget are also being made to allow for a wage increase for state sector doctors.
