Every Saturday evening the Alcazar Museum in the Plaza de Espana in Santo Domingo's Colonial City presents Noches Vivas del Alcazar, reliving the times of the splendor of the Alcazar Palace. Actors in 16th century attire evoke the days of the court of Don Diego Colon and Maria de Toledo. The costumes have been created by leading Dominican designers, including Leonel Lirio, Hipolito Pena, Robert Flores, Giannina Azar, Magaly Tiburcio, Jorge Diep, Luis Rivas, Berkola, Carla Carbonell, Luis Dominguez and Carlos de Moya. The costumed figures tell the history of the important historic monument and its first inhabitants. A troupe of actors performs the story live, showing off the new costumes. Admission is RD$150 per person.
