The Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) now under Celso Marranzini says it has reduced spending by RD$442 million a year and the payroll by 1,378 employees. As reported in Diario Libre, payroll cuts have mainly affected the Rural and Suburban Electrification Unit (UERS), the Blackouts Reduction Program (PRA), and the CDEEE Corporate Unit. Marranzini said that employees at the Corporate Unit have been reduced from 821 to 612, at the PRA from 793 to 93 and at the UERS from 671 to 560.
