Sobeida hearing postponed until 27 August

Judge Claribel Nivar Arias has postponed the trial of Sobeida Felix Morel and Puerto Rican Jose David Figueroa Agosto, described as the Pablo Escobar of the Caribbean and arrested last month in Puerto Rico, until 27 August. The defense lawyers want to separate the trial. Felix Morel is to be tried for money laundering. Sobeida Felix and Mary Pelaez were brought to the Santo Domingo courthouse for the hearing. They are in preventive custody at the Najayo Jail in San Cristobal.
