View Full Version : IMF and government team work on Stand-by

A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is in the country to go over the Stand-by Arrangement that was signed at the end of last year and which is supposed to provide the administration with US$1.7 billion. Also attending the work sessions at the Central Bank is the executive vice-president of the State Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) Celso Marranzini. The teams reviewed economic performance in the first half of the year and indicated that the country had made significant progress in economic stability, highlighted by the exchange rate and the controlled inflation. It was stressed that as of July the yearly inflation rate was 3.22% and consistent with the year-end goal of 6%-7%.
